Now you can swipe right on art, thanks to iPhone app ARTO, the sort-of Tinder of the art scene. Only available on iPhones for now, the Singapore-based art discovery start-up allows you to find works based on your preferences, using its ‘Art Recommendation Engine’. So the more you swipe left or right (to dislike or like), the better it learns your preferences and can offer you pieces according to your tastes. Plus, all your ‘liked’ pieces will be saved into a personal gallery, and you can view them anytime you like.
ARTO is kinda like a step towards going digital for the art industry, and it claims to cover everything from classical to pop art by independent artists and galleries. As of now, more than 10,000 artworks are in the app’s database, with new additions everyday, and partnerships with more galleries and museums in the works.
