Popular Canadian stand-up comedian Russell Peters is returning to be the butt of jokes in Singapore.
The 52-year-old, who sold out past gigs in the city-state, will be heading back to Singapore Indoor Stadium on Feb. 25 for his Act Your Age World Tour.
Named by Rolling Stone as one of the 50 Best Comics of All Time, Peters rose to comedic stardom in 2004 for his signature jokes targeting cultural groups in a CTV “Comedy Now!” special that went viral online.
Peters later took on larger venues like Madison Square Garden, The Sydney Opera House and London’s O2 Arena. He also broke the UK’s record for the highest number of tickets sold for a comedy show.
Now, he has his own Netflix comedy specials and podcast titled Culturally Cancelled with Russell Peters. Other fun facts provided by organizers include him having a blue belt with three stripes in Jiu Jitsu and being an “ardent DJ and hip-hop junkie who tries to get on the turntables for at least a few minutes every day.”
Tickets start from S$108 and will go on sale to the general public on Nov. 11 at 10am. VIP tickets where one can see the man up close, get a photo and an autographed poster, are also available.
And if you need a reminder of his brand of humor, here’s what got him popular decades ago:
