A spellbinding Harry Potter exhibition: Magic wands, Quidditch, Hogwarts Express and more

Potterheads, where you at? If you can’t get enough of the J.K. Rowling series — even after the ArtScience Museum’s Harry Potter exhibition in 2012 — perhaps this will pique your interest. For the next seven months, experience the magic of the best-selling books at the Singapore Philatelic Museum’s Collecting Magic: From Stamps to Wands display.

The exhibition room is a pretty small space, but it’s filled to the brim with a comprehensive collection of the wizarding world’s stamps from across the globe.

Even if you’re not too keen on stamps — we admit, it’s a rather niche interest — there’s an entire range of movie memorabilia and collectibles on loan from local fans, as well as recreations of scenes like the Quidditch game and Platform 9 3/4, where you can jump into the shot for a photo op.

And to ensure things don’t get too static, the exhibition also features interactive multimedia exhibits created by a team of students from Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Interactive & Digital Media. You can be a magician for a day and wave your wand for on-screen action or unearth ‘spells’ at the heat-sensitive stamp curation. Oh, and on your way up to the display room, you’ll be greeted by moving portraits and photo stills from the movie adaptations.

Here are some highlights to get excited about.
