The Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) is back to showcase more Southeast Asian talent from the film and TV industry. This year’s event begins on Dec. 1 at Marina Bay Sands, and virtually at ATF Online+. Content creators can pitch their work to some of the best in the biz, and win funding to bring those ideas to life. Budding filmmakers, producers or scriptwriters can turn pitch into project across four different categories — check it out!
ATF Animation Pitch
This one’s for those of you that want to make content catered to children. It’s definitely an interesting challenge, since kids are one of the most important groups of media consumers. Individuals, students and small- to medium-sized companies can submit new and original concepts under the categories of comedy, adventure, action or fantasy. Who knows, in a few years, your show could earn you some street cred among toddlers (and the gratitude of exhausted parents everywhere).
ATF Formats Pitch
Think you’ve got an idea for the next big hit on reality TV? This pitch calls on creators and producers to send in new and original unscripted (non-fiction) entertainment formats under the categories of entertainment, factual entertainment, game shows, and studio entertainment. Submissions will be judged based on factors like creativity, originality, capability to translate and travel globally, amongst others. The winner will receive a S$3,500 cash award to develop their idea.
ATF Chinese Pitch
Chinese scriptwriters can submit their ideas in two pitches under the Chinese category, for a theatrical/online movie or an online drama series. It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase your ideas for export to and development in Chinese-speaking territories, and it’s open to all creators and producers from across the globe. No worries if you can’t actually speak Mandarin, English scripts are accepted and will be translated into Chinese. Stand to win S$3,500 in funding, with the potential of an interested buyer paying you S$15,000 for your script.
SEASCREEN Project Market
This annual summit is the ultimate showcase of the best feature film concepts from across Asia and Europe. Up to 15 projects will be selected by a panel. The chosen projects will be featured at the SEASCREEN Project Market, and their scriptwriters stand a chance to win prizes at the end of the event. Through the SEASCREEN Project Market, you can gain access to international co-producing partners, festival programmers, distributors, commissioners, and financiers, and that’s one step closer to bringing those film projects to fruition.
Don’t forget to submit those pitches by the specified deadline! Head over to the ATF 2021 website for more information about their pitches.
