Sorry Cumberbabes, this is as close as you can get to seeing the thespian (of high cheekbones) live.
As part of the Esplanade’s National Theatre Live program, some of the finest theatre productions from the United Kingdom are being broadcasted on screens here. That means at an affordable price of under $30, the highly acclaimed likes of Ralph Fiennes, Mark Strong, Carey Mulligan and of course, Benedict Cumberbatch will virtually perform in plays right in front of your eyes.
Cumberbatch — known and loved for his role in BBC’s Sherlock — will be bringing his trademark air of eccentric genius to the title role of Hamlet. The acclaimed production (filmed live at London’s Barbican Centre) will be screened on Apr 23 and 24 in its full three-hour duration. Again, we must remind you that Cumberbatch is not really here in Singapore, so don’t get your hopes up about whatever weird fantasies you have.
