Scottish artist Ronnie Ford’s textured paintings with contrasting colours on display

Scottish artist Ronnie Ford returns to Singapore with his second exhibition after the first debuted in 2012. Known for his unique TextureScapes, a painting technique originating from his study of sculpture and optical arts, his works feature textured surfaces with vibrant, contrasting colours.

Ford takes time to examine the landscapes, then detaches himself from them to weed out unnecessary details. From memory, he captures the spirit of the space and re-creates it on his canvas to showcase an impression instead of a representation of the place.

His paintings capture scenes that range from wild meadows and rows of vineyards to lavender fields and sparkling waterfalls.

Here are some of his works.

‘In Winding Valleys too Tortuous to Trace’
‘Printemps Saint Paul de Vence’
‘Symphonie d’Ete’

Ronnie Ford’s exhibition is from May 26-Jun 25, Sun-Thurs 11am-9pm, Fri & Sat noon-10pm at Ode to Art Platform @ Raffles City Convention Centre, L4 Foyer Area. Free.
