Looks like all the dismal reports of people going on rampages across Singapore using two-wheelers from bike-sharing companies haven’t discouraged ShareBikeSG from setting up shop. Touted as the country’s first and only mountain bike-sharing service, the platform offers bicycles fitted with front suspension and seven gears, allowing for a smoother ride in parks and along biking trails.
The current fleet of 300 bicycles can be found at lush spots such as Chestnut Nature Park, Gardens by the Bay, and Marina Barrage, with the renting process being pretty hassle-free and familiar. Simply download the app (available on Google Play and the App Store), search for a bike, scan the barcode to unlock it, then hop on and zoom off into the sunset. Once you’re done, be a good citizen and park your ride at a designated public bike parking area.
Note that a deposit of S$9.90 is required, but it’s refundable. Although you’ve only got till Jan 31 to enjoy the promo before the number soars back up to the standard price of S$49. As for the rental prices, they’re not too bad at S$1 for every 30 minutes.
If you need more convincing, watch this dude biking it at Chestnut Nature Park.
