“Fun” and “prison” are two words that do not usually appear in the same sentence — but next month’s scheduled Yellow Ribbon Prison Run promises to be different kinds of happy and entertaining with a 6km path that’s dotted with magical fairy tale characters such as the Ugly Duckling and the Frog Prince.
At the end of the “Happily Ever After Running Trail” is an open-to-the-public carnival within the Changi Prison Complex where you can watch some inmates perform with The Philharmonic Winds, roaming magicians, photo and game booths, and more.
There are even mock-up cells and workshops at the Rehabilitation Exhibition for those curious what prison life is like. Seriously.
Yellow Ribbon Prison Run is on Sep 13. Sign up on the spot at Orchard Central Atrium on Aug 29 & 30, 11am-8pm. Proceeds raised from the run will go to Yellow Ribbon Fund, which supports rehabilitation and reintegration programmes of ex-offenders, their families and their children.
