Pop-rock outfit Panic! At the Disco to make nostalgic return in August with new tunes

It’s been eight years since theatrical emo-punk troupe Panic! At the Disco last brought their quirky alt-rock tunes to Singapore, and they faded away from our radars along with our guyliners, leather wristbands and mopey haircuts.

Like all of us who outgrew that era, the group has matured as well — or rather just Panic! At the Disco helmsman Brendan Urie. Now sporting newer elements of electronic music, synthpop and extra polish (without losing his idiosyncratic croons), Urie strikes out on his own with Death of a Bachelor, the band’s fifth studio album.

It’ll be the swaggering Urie who’ll be dropping by Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on Aug 16 in Panic! At the Disco’s first headlining concert, thanks to LAMC Productions. Here’s hoping that he’ll still be up to play nostalgia-laden classics like ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ and ‘Build God, Then We’ll Talk’.

Tickets will be out tomorrow morning via Sistic from $98 onwards — stay updated on the Facebook event page.
