Please don’t look at this savage mockery of Singapore celebs’ terrible outfits – unless you do.

An online fashion critic whose tagline is “Always hungry. Always bitchy!” is back with takedowns of the Star Awards’ worst-dressed celebs that are far spicier than anything heard on the red carpet.

Following Singapore’s biggest television awards ceremony last night, Dennis Lim has once again meme-ready savagery, this time delivered in an entire album ridiculing the fashion faux pas of actors including Kym Ng, Mark Lee and Fann Wong.

“You do not need the Singapore rediscover voucher to view Kym Ng art museum gown,” Lim said of the My Guardian Angel actress’s blue Isabel Sanchis gown festooned with what look like landmarks.

It was mostly memes galore for the other TV personalities who attended the show, with Elvin Ng’s two-tone pink outfit likened to a glass of Bandung milky rose-flavored drink, the print on Desmond Tan’s suit to the splashes of paint we normally see on the doors of people attacked by loan sharks.

Did He Ying Ying, Pan Ling Ling, and Xiang Yun buy their red fabric from the same retailer? Lim thinks so.

“He Ying Ying, Pan Ling Ling, Xiang Yun bulk buy their fabric from textile centre and sew 3 frocks for the star awards all in the name of sustainability,” he wrote.

The Star Awards, held at Jewel Changi Airport for the first time, doled out awards for Singapore’s Chinese-language television entertainers against a backdrop of Singapore Airlines aircraft.

Other outfits to be lanced by Lim included Edwin Goh’s pyjama-looking striped pink suit and Jayley Woo’s fluffy dress made with way too much tulle netting, which struck Lim as low-rent.

“Jayley Woo wiped out enough tulle at Spotlight to line the floor from T1 to T4,” he said.

This year’s Star Awards ceremony was postponed twice due to the pandemic. Some celebs showed up to walk the red carpet on the tarmac before an Airbus A350-900 backdrop. Big winners of the night were Qi Yuwu and Zoe Tay, who won the Best Actor and Actress awards, respectively.

As the album says, “They came, they shocked, they left. Till the next Star Awards!”
