Cosplayers have already taken over convention centres and mall lobbies, so what’s three nights on a luxury cruise, right?
The difference is that you’re not a captive audience on land, but if you’re actually the type who likes to be surrounded by men and women in costume — hey, it can be fun — you shouldn’t miss “Cosfest Sea: The Rising Tide” in January which will take you from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang).
Apart from being served by cosplayers at the Cosplay Café, there will also be random photo opportunities as they spontaneously appear throughout the ship dressed in different costumes. There’s also a guest appearance by celebrity cosplayer Neneko from Taiwan (see photo above).
The Asia Cosplay Meet Championship will also be held during the cruise, with contestants from eight countries and territories (China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand) vying for the top spot.
When you do get tired of all the visual overload, we just hope there’s room to hide in the 15-deck ship, which has a total capacity of 3,807 guests.
The theme cruise packages are now on sale, from the Interior Stateroom package goes ($460) to the Balcony Stateroom package ($633).
