An annual festival celebrating Singapore’s queer community will return next month.
After skipping last year, a third edition of Pink Fest will be back in June for Pride Month with more than 60 activities, events, and talent shows conducted virtually via their website.
“We were very disappointed not to be able to hold Pink Fest 2020 last year. This year, more than ever, we are determined to bring some fun and happiness to Pride Month in Singapore! We were hoping to be able to come out to celebrate in person, but that’s alright. If you can’t come to Pink Fest, then Pink Fest will come to you!” festival director Harris Zaidi said.
Show off your happy dance or bring the drama by signing up for its first talent or show off your fleekest animal companion in a pet parade. Other activities in the arts, culture and lifestyle include bullet-journaling workshops, comic books, home workout tips and discussions about financial planning and public housing.
Their popular Pasar Pink Pop-Up, previously conducted at The Cathay, will happen online on June 5 and will include live auctions. The 24-hour marketplace will accommodate flash deals for customers throughout the day.
The two main events will stream online: Queer Got Talent, a talent competition hosted by Drag Race Thailand host Pangina Heals, and the Proud Pet Parade, where pet parents can showcase talents like “Best Celebrity Look Alike” and “The Pet That Naturally Looks The Most Like Its Owner.” Both shows will be scored by celebrity judges.
