Finally, the largest mall in the north of the country will open its doors (for a soft launch) on Jan 19. Northpoint City, located just across the road from Yishun MRT, is a massive development that’ll likely see swarms of Yishun residents descending on the shiny new neighborhood shopping center in no time.
With more than 100 F&B concepts — of which about 50 are new to the mall — Northpoint City’s line-up of culinary options includes a food street called The Makan Town, as well as two food courts: Bagus and Kopitiam. Other noteworthy eateries include the first outlet of Korean brand Pizza Maru in Singapore, Patbingsoo and its rolling cheese pork ribs, Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen with its popular “volcano” ramen, and Thai smoothie brand Fruiturday.
Once you’ve stuffed yourself silly, take a stroll around the space to check out the expanded two-story Harvey Norman, homeware shop Kitchen+Ware, Japanese health and beauty drugstore Welcia-BHG, and yet another supermarket in the form of FairPrice.
For those who make the daily trek between Northpoint City and Yishun MRT, the air-conditioned underground retail link now features over 30 quick-serve concepts to entice you to part with your cash on your way to and from work or school.
Besides its retail directory, the mall is also home to an air-conditioned bus interchange (because air-con is so vital to our country), a revamped public library due to open next month, a community club, a town square the size of 10 basketball courts, and the 920-unit North Park Residences.
Phew, that’s a lot going on under one roof.
