The largest park in the north can now lay claim to the fact that it has the highest number of slides out of all the parks in Singapore. Spread across 27-ha, the newly revamped Admiralty Park features 26 slides and three main playing areas for kids of all ages and children with special needs, according to the National Parks Board (NParks).
After going through a two-year facelift, the park now boasts Singapore’s first family slide — for four people to ride together — as well as the longest outdoor slide at 34m and the tallest tube slide, measuring 23m in length and 9m in height.
Other slides include a merry-go-round, a swing that caters to both parents and children, and a 32m-long slide that’s lined with motion-sensor LED lights, which twinkle from 7pm to 11pm daily.
The Straits Times noted that the design of Admiralty Park took into consideration the 4,000 suggestions that the public sent to NParks — many of which asked for more spaces for families and for the natural greenery of the park to be preserved.
The park also offers a nature area, which will open in December, reported Channel NewsAsia. This will include a mangrove boardwalk and viewing platform.
