New Year’s Eve countdown party at Marina Bay to kick off SG50

Adding even more height to the already mountainous list of initiatives to celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday next year, there’ll be a full-on festival at Marina Bay at the end of the year as a countdown to usher in the year-long SG50 festivities in 2015.

The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2015 — jointly organised by The Esplanade and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) os set to be the biggest new year’s eve celebration yet, featuring outdoor concerts, carnivals, waterfront bazaars and an eight-minute musical firework display, among many other extravagant showcases.

The annual Wishing Sphere Project will also see its biggest iteration yet with over 25,000 spheres available for all to pen down their New Year’s wishes. Virtual wishes can also be made online via the event website.

Mediacorp’s Celebrate SG50 concert will be held at The Float @ Marina Bay, and will be telecasted live.
