There’s a new private museum in town, and it takes over 15,000 sq ft on the third floor of Parkview Square (otherwise known as the ‘Gotham building’ in Bugis). This past weekend, Parkview Museum opened its doors with the Singapore debut of global art exhibition ‘On Sharks and Humanity’.

The travelling showcase —which has been displayed in cities like Moscow and Beijing — is supported by non-profit organization WildAid and focuses on shark protection, the practice of shark finning, marine conservation and the impact of human activities on the oceans. Through a variety of interpretations by local and international artists, the environmental issues are spotlighted in a selection of thought-provoking artworks in the form of sculptures, videos, images and more.

After you’re done walking around the space, head down to the courtyard to check out a couple more sculptures in the open air area.
