Race car enthusiasts can soon let it all out at a new track in Jurong.
The Karting Arena is launching a 700-meter-long go-kart track at Upper Jurong Road for professional and beginner racers this month. Karters can put their skills to the test by racing through 11 turns with petroleum-powered vehicles that can go up to 50 kmh.
The track, which is part of a 153,000 square-foot facility, can accommodate up to 30 go-kart circuits at any one time and is equipped with safety barriers similar to those at Formula 1 races. The motorsports playground also has a race control room, track cameras and a viewing gallery on the second story.
The company hopes that the track will be an outlet for Formula 1 fans after the two-year consecutive cancellation of the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Karting rates start from S$25 per session for children aged 9 and above and S$35 for adults. Bookings can be made online.
Correction: The Jurong facility only has petroleum-powered karts, no electric ones.
