In 2005, Mike Shinoda told you to “remember the name” (as part of Fort Minor, his first solo project). And here we are now, more than a decade later, doing just that — ’cause the Linkin Park singer, rapper, and producer is set to perform in Singapore this August as part of his “Post Traumatic” tour.
If you’re wondering what he’s been up to outside of the Grammy Award-winning rock band he rose to fame with (that tragically saw its lead vocalist Chester Bennington take his life last July), Shinoda recently headlined Los Angeles festival Identity LA, and will head to Japan to play at the Summer Sonic Festival in August before swinging by our shores.
Since the unexpected passing of Bennington, Shinoda has reportedly been diving into music as a refuge, writing, recording, and painting in his LA home as a way of processing his grief. In January, he released his self-produced three-track EP, Post Traumatic, his first project since his Linkin Park bandmate’s death.
Following those deeply personal songs, Shinoda created his Post Traumatic album, featuring 16 new songs, to drop on June 15. These tracks focus on his experience with loss, and his journey of healing.
For those who haven’t heard, here’s the first single from the album, ‘Crossing A Line’.
So if you’re keen to check out his first tour as a solo artist, pre-sale tickets go on sale this Wednesday, with early bird prices at $138.
