For the few of you who still shop at Gap and Banana Republic, you’d best plan a shopping spree to both store before they pull out of the country for good. According to FJ Benjamin, which manages the Singapore stores, both American clothing brands are shutting down their outlets here by the end of the month.
A spokesman told Channel NewsAsia that the two Banana Republic stores and three Gap stores here will shutter after the franchise expires on Feb. 28.
You know what that means — massive goodbye sales as the brands bid us farewell. Expect a 70 percent storewide discount with an additional 30 percent off when you buy three or more items at Gap, as well as an 80 percent storewide discount plus an additional 20 percent off when you purchase five items at Banana Republic’s Marina Bay Sands outpost.
This comes after the announcement on CNN last September that about 200 “underperforming” Gap and Banana Republic stores worldwide would be closed.
No news on Gap’s last day in Singapore so far, but Banana Republic mentioned on its Facebook page yesterday that it has six days left till it’ll say its “final goodbye”.
