Marina Bay has hosted many festivals over the years, but this latest and newest one is set to be Singapore’s biggest carnival. Pitching its camp by the waterfront, the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival will debut in December and stick around till April Fools’ Day next year.

Spread across 25,000sqm over The Promontory and Bayfront Event Space, the inaugural event will bring in more than 40 rides and games, as well as fair food and music performances. But we’re guessing what kiasu Singaporeans will love most about the carnival is that entry is free.

Thrill-seekers can hop on board rides like The Star Flyer, which launches you 35 metres into the air for a panoramic view of the city skyline, or strap on for the Booster Maxx to be whipped around at high speeds 55 metres above the ground.

If you’re not really the adrenaline junkie type, try the Log Flume for a splashin’ time, the Das Fun Schiff pirate ship to be swung into the air, the Cyclone Coaster for twists and turns, or the Apple Coaster for a kid-friendly rollercoaster ride.

Other activities include Singapore’s largest collection of more than 30 carnival game stalls, as well as fitness sessions and performances by bands, DJs, ventriloquist acts, and caroling groups. Food-wise, you can expect to fill up on bite-sized snacks like curly fries, churros, popcorn, and burgers, with dishes starting from $4.

Here’s a sneak peek.

The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival is on from Dec 15-Apr 1, 2018, daily 4pm-11pm (except Christmas and New Year’s Eve when it opens at 3pm) at Marina Bay. Free entry; credits for rides and games can be purchased on-site and online.
