What better way to usher in the new year with seeing a firework display that goes on for way too long? In a bid to send off SG50 in opulent style, an eight-minute firework display will span across the entirety of Marina Bay for the first time.
The fireworks will be accompanied by an original score composed by music director Julian Wong too, while various buildings around the bay will feature synchronized lighting during the ongoings.
“With the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2016, we start a new chapter in the Singapore story by coming together as a nation and imagining the possibilities that the future holds,” said The Esplanade Co Ltd CEO Benson Puah. “We hope to capture the excitement and anticipation of looking ahead, wishing earnestly and dreaming big.”
