French skincare and cosmetics brand L’Occitane is known for its floral-herbal hand creams, fragrances, hair care, and body/bath products — and apparently, it also dabbles in the business of food and drink, though the L’Occitane Cafe in Shibuya, Tokyo has gotten pretty mixed reviews.
Recently, L’Occitane launched a collaborative project with famous French pastry chef Pierre Hermé to open a sprawling lifestyle concept store in Paris, which houses an essential oils distillery, a restaurant, a coffee and cocktail bar, and rows upon rows of macarons.
Soon, Singapore will get our own taste of all that.

For two weeks in July — from the 3rd to the 16th — the brand is partnering up with our very own dessert maestro Janice Wong (who apprenticed in Pierre Hermé’s patisserie) to debut its pop-up cafe at Ion Orchard, with new creations in her signature colorful, experimental style inspired by the natural ingredients used in its products. Think bon bons and other sweet treats made with ingredients like cherry blossom, verbena, bergamot, rose, and almond.

Also at the space is the “Provence experience”, which includes a 360-degree virtual reality exploration of Provence’s natural landscapes, and a skincare and body care texture bar where you can sample the products, all to the backdrop of tinkling French tunes.

The cafe and L’Occitane experience will only be here for a limited time, so check it out while you can.
“A Journey in Every Sense” by L’Occitane is on from July 3-16 at L1 Atrium, Ion Orchard.
