Korean fried chicken? Check. Live music? Check. Eating some hearty festival fare curated by experts of Korean fried chicken while listening to live music by Singaporean talents? Absolutely.
It’s an odd (yet wonderful) combination — popular homegrown chain 4Fingers is foraying into the local music scene with its debut music festival Local Motion. We’re stoked about hanging out at Fort Canning, witnessing a heavenly marriage between the makers of juicy fried chicken and some of Singapore’s biggest names in indie music, including the likes of Disco Hue, Jasmine Sokko, Bakers in Space, Lost Weekend, Jojo and DJs from EmoNightSG and EATMEPOPTART.
Surprisingly, 4Fingers’ chicken will not be served at the festival. What attendees will be enjoying instead is the chain’s collaboration with local F&B owners, who’ll have their wares locked and loaded for some fun in the sun come September.
“4FINGERS is doing this as it’s their mission to support the underdogs that the public may not necessarily see as local heroes — and this festival is the perfect way to showcase the amazing talent and grit (from artists + F&B owners) that we have in Singapore,” noted a spokesperson from Local Motion’s public relations team.
Admission is free, but you know you gotta bring some mad cash for some mad nosh and even madder drinks. The festival will be on Sept 23 at Fort Gate, Fort Canning Park. Register here to get your spot.
EDIT: Article updated to reflect that 4Fingers chicken will not be sold at the festival (sad as it might be).
