Local anthology of cat stories gets re-print and reading session with real cats

If you love books as much as you love felines, why not fuse both into one explosive union next month when a book about cats gets a reading session with real cats by your side.

From The Belly of the Cat — an anthology of fifteen furry tales by some of Singapore’s literary talents — is getting a brand new re-print and Chinatown’s first cat cafe The Company of Cats are hosting a book reading session on Aug 29 in their feline sanctuary with their 11 resident kitties.

Wordsmiths such as Dave Chua, Jon Gresham, Amande Lee Koe and more will be making an appearance for the event, and the reading session will be followed by a panel discussion by the owners of the cafe as well as the writers, where they’ll discuss all things concerning cats (political outlooks, claw welfare, hairball prohibition — you know the drill) in Singapore. More details on the Facebook event page.
