Let loose and laugh at jokes by 28 comedians at the Singapore Comedy Fringe

The Singapore Comedy Fringe returns for five nights of rib-tickling giggles at SOTA Drama Theatre. With 28 comedians taking turns on the stage at 10 live stand-up comedy shows, there’s plenty of jokes to go around. Just pick your favourite funnyman (or woman) and ready yourself for an evening of non-stop chuckles.

Highlights include the Fringe Gala on day one, featuring the likes of Jason Leong, Jinx Yeo, Paul Ogata and Joanna Sio giving audiences a quick taste of what’s to come with five minutes on stage each. On the same day, catch local comedian Fakkah Fuzz in his first hour-long show.

For day two, things heat up with Roast Chicken Rice War: Singapore vs Malaysia, starring names from both sides of the Causeway going head-to-head to claim ownership of said dish (we can’t wait to see who goes down). Later in the night, Aussie dudes Jonathan Atherton, Peter Berner and Cam Knight present Thunder From Down Under — and for goodness’ sake, don’t get them mixed up with the hunky male strip show of the same name.

Girl power takes over on day three, with names like Sharul Channa, Shamaine Othman and Kristel Zweers showing us their wits. The next day, the Empire strikes back — Matt Kirshen and Marion Davis from the UK give their take on the funny side of life. To end it all off, Best of Asia closes the fest with a bang, featuring acts like Rishi Budhrani, Kavin Jay and Rizal Van Geyzel.

Singapore Comedy Fringe is on Apr 26-30 at SOTA Drama Theatre, 1 Zubir Said Drive. All shows are rated M18. Tickets range from $28-$58.
