Kids are some of the most important people in the world, and they’re well worth the effort to find new ways to keep them engaged in their learning. Look no further than the Sports Hub Tots and Kinder Play, an enriching program for children by the Singapore Sports Hub that helps the development of their motor skills during their crucial foundation years. There are five different programs with age-specific activities that help to nurture the cognitive, emotional, social and motor development of children.
Experienced sports and movement coaches here use colorful equipment and age-specific methods to scaffold the development of stability, locomotion (movement of the body) and object control in young children, and it’s also a great way to encourage kids to live an active lifestyle. Those aged 12 months up to 6 years old can participate, and classes will be held in accordance with Covid-19 safe management measures. Classes will be held at the Sports Hub Fitness Studio on level two of the OCBC Arena, which means it’s convenient for parents to work out while their kids are attending this program.
There are many programs to choose from, all of which are designed to foster learning through play. I Can Do helps tots aged 28 to 40 months hone their movement skills through a series of structured activities, while those aged 3-4 years old will enjoy learning the value of group participation in Watch Me Play. Dinkies is where 4-5 year olds will learn to tackle more advanced sport skills.
Parents can even join in the fun of the Fun2B1 and Early 2’s sessions. This is a great opportunity to bond with the little ones! The Fun2B1 program is for those aged 12 to 22 months old who have just started crawling around — it’s important to help them achieve mobile milestones during this period, and this program aids their development through a series of physical activities. For example, did you know that crawling helps the little ones grasp mathematical concepts?
On the other hand, the Early 2’s program is for those aged 23 to 28 months old. Its participants will enjoy a variety of activities that can improve and develop their stability, locomotion and manipulation. Kids will also learn to abide by a structured routine, cooperate with the facilitator and to follow instructions.
