Bargain bin hunters, this one’s for you. Get excited, ‘cause Japanese discount store Don Quijote is opening up shop in Singapore – its first venture into Southeast Asia. Of course, it’s making its debut in the Orchard area, amongst the numerous other international brands.

The opening details of the affectionately named ‘Donki’ have yet to be announced, but expect “cool” Japanese products at affordable prices, and perhaps even longer opening hours than the other stores along the shopping stretch. Maybe.

Don Quijote’s first discount store opened in 1989, and it was since grown into a general retailing group with 350 stores, including three in Hawaii.
