This huge multi-concept space offers sporting facilities, a fitness studio and a nail salon

Singapore’s first (and largest) sports and lifestyle space is now open. Tucked away in Jurong, near Science Centre, The Yard offers sprawling facilities for gymnastics, parkour and trampolining in its 20,000 sq ft place. The newly-renovated urban arena is open to people of all ages — from young ones to adults — and skill levels. Even if you’ve got no prior experience in any of these sports, you’re more than welcome to try them out, as long as you’ve got a can-do attitude.

The Yard especially caters to gymnastics enthusiasts, with a wide range of Olympic standard equipment like a 16m-long trampoline tumble track, an oversized spring deck acrobatic floor, two vaulting tables, eight balance beams and more.

Plus, former competitive gymnasts from the Singapore national team make up part of the coaching staff — and the lady behind this huge project is Rosanna Trigg, an internationally qualified gymnastics coach who’s been involved in the sport for over 20 years — so you know you’re in damn good hands.

For those who would rather stick to what they know, the fitness studio upstairs offers yoga, Pilates, Zumba and TRX classes. Right next to it is a nail salon, where you can get mani-pedis after your workout or while you wait for your kid’s gymnastics session to be over.

And for parents who want to lounge in comfort as they mentally cheer on their little ones, the second floor cafe area is a sleek space decked out industrial-style with cosy sofas and a bar. Best of all, it’s got a glass window by the bar seats where you can watch all the action going on in the arena.

There’s really nothing quite as attractive as a facility that caters to the whole family.

The Yard is at #01-03 Bestway Centre, 10 Science Centre Rd. Mon-Fri 9am-9pm, Sat 9am-6pm, Sun open for customised events or parties. Visit the website for more info on the classes and how to sign up.
