The stars have aligned, the soothsayers have foretold, and that leaked poster was legit — hard rock legends Guns N’ Roses are indeed making their Singapore debut come Feb 25, 2017. *air guitar*
As seen in the poster that surfaced online last week, one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time will be playing at Changi Exhibition Centre (where Metallica once played) as part of the Asian leg of their Not In This Lifetime Tour. At least now we know that veteran concert promoters LAMC Productions will be the ones bringing the reunited core line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan (sorry, Izzy Stradlin) here.

It’s been almost 30 years since the Los Angeles band made a highly acclaimed debut with Appetite for Destruction, sealing songs like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’ and ‘Paradise City’ into permanent pop cultural prominence. Five more studio albums later (including the horribly meh Chinese Democracy following a 17-year wait), and still nobody imagined they’d ever watch the rock n’ roll legends play live in Singapore. Thankfully, the band put aside their quarrels and got back together for a comeback tour earlier this year.
Singapore’s the only Asian stop announced for their tour so far — but presumably the rushed announcement is because someone leaked the poster. According to their press release, LAMC confirmed that the band “will not be performing in nearby countries”, surprisingly enough. This could mean that the concert in Singapore could be their only show in Southeast Asia, so that’s a bummer for everyone else who has to fly in.
Regardless, it’s Guns N’ Roses! So cough out a proper chunk of your salary with tickets going from $199 to $568. Then there’s the VIP packages that go up to $2,063 a pop. Tickets go on sale via SISTIC on Oct 17, 10am; stay updated on the LAMC Productions Facebook page.
