Say goodbye to New Year’s resolutions about numbers on scales or followers. Instead, vow to keep learning and expanding your mind in 2020. We have the perfect idea to get your resolution off on the right foot — spend a day at ArtScience Museum with your family and friends.

For those of you who haven’t been to ArtScience Museum, it explores the convergence of art, science, culture, and technology. Bonus: the iconic architecture of the building will get your creative juices flowing before you even enter.

It’s not a once a year excursion either; there’s always a wide range of exhibitions and programs that encourage fun and meaningful times for the whole family. Speaking of exhibitions, here are three inspiring and interactive exhibitions that are perfect for spending a day with the family.

Future World: Where Art Meets Science

Led by his trusted reindeer, Santa Claus will be flying his magical sleigh into the Future World exhibit for the special interactive Sketch Christmas installation from Dec 1, 2019-Jan 6, 2020. Sketch Christmas will transform the iconic Sketch Town installation into a winter wonderland. Use crayons and paper to draw your own Santa Claus and reindeers and scan it so it appears on the screen. Then, touch the characters on the screen to make them move and watch Santa deliver presents around the world. It’s a Christmas miracle!

If you are inspired by this high-tech interactive exhibition, learn more about the language of computers while using an exclusive program at the Play With Coding workshop happening on Dec 6, 13, 20, and 27, from 11am-12pm. Through fun and engaging activities, participants will discover the codes that we rely on in our everyday lives.

2219: Futures Imagined

What will Singapore look like 200 years from now? This exhibition will be a good opportunity to reflect on the type of future we want for Singapore.

This immersive and experiential exhibition is a journey into imaginary future worlds, featuring over two dozen artists, architects, filmmakers, writers, and theatre companies from Singapore and around the world. It unfolds over five acts, placing visitors in scenarios that explore how our future lives may be impacted by climate change and the loss of the planet’s biodiversity. The exhibition is a contemplative space for visitors to consider the thought-provoking questions posed by the show: what will the larger global context be in 200 years and how will environmental forces impact our home?

To make the experience more interesting, pick up an interactive trail kit from the museum shop for SG$5. Imagine finding yourself in the distant future with very little memory of how you got there. Follow the trail to investigate the mystery using clues provided through different galleries. Do you have what it takes to complete the trail in order to restore your memory?

The turn of a new decade is the perfect time to visit this exhibit and think about technology, sustainability, and our shared future. Visit 2219: Futures Imagined now until Apr 5, 2020, students studying in local institutions enjoy complimentary access.

Spend a memorable day with the entire family at ArtScience Museum. Visit ArtScience Museum’s ticketing page to grab your all access ticket starting from SG$20*.
