This might be the closest thing you can get to the real Gorillaz — not like they’re a real band in the first place anyway.
The English virtual band created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett may not be present when Gorillaz Sound System takes over Zouk on Sep 17, but we promise you it’ll still be one helluva show. Helmed by Remi Kabaka — multi-instrumentalist, DJ and voice behind the Gorillaz animated drummer — the audio-visual show will be debuting for the first time in Singapore. Expect crazy visuals and majestic projections alongside Gorillaz tracks, both the classics and new remixes.
The likes of masked electronic prodigy Fauxe as well as DJ trio Stassh will be opening the show, in what promises to be a mad trippy night. Tickets are out on Pelago at $55 and $75.
