Brit theatre foundation Shakespeare’s Globe plans to present its Hamlet theatre production over to every country in the world; and come September, the classic tale of revenge and madness will premiere in Singapore’s Capitol Theatre in the first international production to grace the stage of the refurbished grand dame.
Shakespeare’s Globe initiated the ambitious plan to take Hamlet on a two-year global tour back in 2014, on the 450th anniversary of the bard’s birth. Lasting two hours and forty minutes for each play, the company of twelve actors will be delivering a fresh, improv-driven version of Globe to Globe Hamlet in brisk clarity, without the tedious passages of the Elizabethan Era.

Partners ABA Productions are chuffed to present Hamlet to the newly restored Capitol Theatre. “To appreciate one of Shakespeare’s best-known pieces in such a beautiful landmark so rich in history, is a cultural event not to be missed,” says ABA Productions’ Executive Producer Matthew Gregory.
Globe to Globe Hamlet will go on for five performances from Sept 8 to Sept 12; tickets are on sale at Sistic. More information available on the ABA Productions Singapore Facebook page.
