Giant retail warehouse Big Box will open in Jurong Gateway by year-end.
The eight-storey building houses an area of over 1.3 million sq. ft., making Big Box the largest of four warehouse retail projects under the Economic Development Board’s (EDB) Warehouse Retail Scheme.
400,000 sq. ft. of the mall will be dedicated to four retail themes — consumer electronics, food and beverage outlets, a home and lifestyle centre and a hypermart — selling brands like Akira, Barang Barang and Novena.
600,000 sq. ft. goes to warehouse and logistical facilities and 70,000 sq. ft. is for an exhibition hall.
This new concept of “Stores in Store” combines a wide product mix with personalised services — Big Box will be the first in Singapore to feature a drive-through for collecting pre-ordered goods online.
The building is currently surrounded by new developments like JEM and JCube — the soon-to-be-completed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital is also in the vicinity.
