Ready your roars. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, one of the summer’s most anticipated blockbusters, opens in Singapore on June 7. But before that, you can put your bravado to the test and come face-to-face with the prehistoric creatures at two places in Singapore — Universal Studios Singapore and Plaza Singapura.

Sure, there’s already the main Jurassic Park attraction at the Sentosa theme park, but “Jurassic World: Explore & Roar,” running from June 2 to Aug 22, is bringing another level of dinosaur realness to our shores.

As soon as you step onto Hollywood Boulevard, you’ll spot life-sized dinosaur specimens like the T-Rex, Stegosaurus, and Pterodactyl, as well as prop replicas from the Jurassic World films like the Gyrosphere (from June 8) — y’know, the sphere-shaped ride that went haywire in the first flick.

At the crossroad junction, there’s no missing the massive Hollywood Lagoon Stage that plays host to a new live action show, where the predators break loose and wreak havoc, and the stuntmen do their best to contain the bloodshed — culminating in a suspenseful appearance by one particularly enormous beast.

From there, follow the massive T-Rex footprints to The Lost World — and stop by the steps of the New York Public Library on the way to interact with savage animals on the big screen via augmented reality.

At the Raptor Training School, you’ll meet resident handler Wyatt, who guides the brave souls among us as we get up close to a living, breathing, moving Velociraptor. He’s no Chris Pratt/Owen, but he’ll keep ya safe.

Lastly, on June 29, Dr. Rodney will bring in a shipment of Velociraptor eggs to the park’s nursery. If you’re lucky, you may even get to see one “hatch” — how’s that for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Meanwhile, at Plaza Singapura’s first floor main atrium, there’ll be more of this dino action, going on from now until June 17.

Highlights include photo ops with a somewhat terrifyingly realistic sculpture of Blue, the Velociraptor from the movie, plus an immersive experience of seeing Isla Nublar through Blue’s eyes (via VR, of course). Alternatively, put on an archaeologist hat and dig up “fossils” at the sandpit excavation site (you’ll have to spend at least $30 in a single receipt at the mall to do so).

You can also check out the Jurassic World Pinball game, which takes you through iconic moments from the movie, participate in an upcycling workshop to craft your own miniature dinosaur, catch screenings of films from the franchise every Friday and Saturday evening at the Outdoor Front Plaza, and grab all the merch and toys you want to recreate your own dinosaur park at home.

Oh, and if you haven’t seen the latest trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom yet, then here it is below.
