Gentle Bones’ postponed debut concert at Esplanade to take place this June

After over three months of being detained in Indonesia over a permit screw up, prominent singer-songwriter Gentle Bones heads back into the fray with a debut concert this June at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Of course, this is the second time Universal Music Singapore made the announcement of his debut concert. Initially, the Joel Tan’s big show was meant to go on (and had sold-out too) last December, but was cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control“. Later on, it was eventually revealed that the show was cancelled because Tan and his music entourage weren’t able to leave Indonesia at all.

Anywho, that whole mess seems to be over. June 10 will be the date that Gentle Bones will be crooning to his legion of millennial fans right here at the Esplanade, armed with new songs off his forthcoming EP along with his chart-topping classics. A new addition to the lineup will be .gif as openers, whose sophisticated electronic rhythms hopefully won’t be lost on Tan’s pop-inclined crowd.

“Months of preparations have gone into this show and I’m glad I have the opportunity to present my new music along with revisions of the old, in the beautiful Esplanade Concert Hall,” quipped Tan, which was exactly what he said the last time. “Many exciting things are almost due and I’d like the people at home to be the first to experience it live.”

Tickets go on sale through Sistic from Jan 29 onwards at $25, $35 and $45. Stay updated on the Facebook event page.
