Gentle Bones’ debut at Esplanade Concert Hall sold out; second date added

As expected, the diehard young fans of singer-songwriter heart-throb Joel Tan aka Gentle Bones have sold out his debut concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall (again) and a second show has been announced.

With his debut concert on Jun 10 selling out within 10 days, Universal Music Singapore is setting up a second concert on Jun 11. Electronica duo .gif will remain opening guests for the first show, while upcoming singer-songwriter Linying will be bringing her lush tunes to the Esplanade as the second show’s opener.

“There is so much in store in the near future and my show at The Esplanade will be the first time I get to showcase them,” says Tan. “Having sold out an entire hall on the first night, I am now given the opportunity to present both the old and the new to even more people. I am ecstatic and I hope this leap of faith pays off.”

The opportunity to play at the Esplanade Concert Hall of course is a relished one by Gentle Bones, especially since he had to cancel his initial concert, which was supposed to take place in December last year. Tan and his support crew had been detained in Indonesia for over three months over a performance permit issue after a show in Jakarta and only managed to return home shortly before Christmas.

Tickets to the second show on Jun 11 go on sale on Feb 19 through Sistic at $25, $35 and $45. More details on the Facebook event page.
