Upgrade up your gaming in a big way like one group of Singaporeans did by booking an entire cinema hall to feed their gaming addiction.
Les Yam today boasted about his leveled-up experience when he booked an entire cinema hall Saturday at the Golden Village in the Funan shopping center to play console games with his buddies for three hours. Yam said they had reached out to other theater operators with their special request but only Golden Village got back to them.
“Just want to share our awesome gaming experience at a cinema at Funan … and to show our support for local businesses,” he first wrote Sunday. “We booked the entire hall for 3 hours with free popcorn and drink for each person.”
The cinema does not provide the gaming consoles but does allow gamers to BYOC. Yam and his gaming squad spent the three hours playing multiplayer games like cooking game Overcooked, parenting simulator Think of the Children, and racing game Forza Horizon on his Xbox One.
The rental cost Yam S$435. The theater charges an additional S$20 for snacks other than free popcorn.

He said he would go again for the unforgettable “once in a lifetime” experience – if it cost less.
“My only complaint is that if the price could be cheaper like $300 for 3 hours, I wouldn’t mind coming back again for 2nd big-screen gaming,” he said. A maximum of five people per booking is allowed in line with COVID-19 measures.
