Full lineup announced for Laneway Festival Singapore 2015

Laneway Festival rolls into Gardens By The Bay once again in an annual extravaganza featuring some of the world’s biggest names in indie music.

In typical Laneway fashion, the music festival will be hosting hot up-and-comers that have recently blazed their way into the hearts and minds of indie music fans and next year’s edition might be the boldest one yet. Standing out from the lineup are the strong female names including alternative R&B stalwarts FKA Twigs and Banks, Swedish indie pop darling Lykke Li, Melbourne’s lo-fi troubadour Courtney Barnett and art rock powerhouse St. Vincent. On the electronic side of the panorama are indietronica icons Little Dragon, Scottish IDM producer Rustie and wistful crooner Chet Faker.

Other international names are a mix of old and new favourites including English post-punk outfit Eagulls, lo-fi legend Mac Demarco, garage rock duo Royal Blood, modern soul collective Jungle, psychedelic prodigies Pond, folk brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone and eminent synthpop quintet Future Islands, who turned talkshow host David Letterman into a raving fan after their live debut on his show.

Singapore’s iteration of the Australia-based boutique festival has also turned into a showcase of the best indie music from Southeast Asia with the addition of Singapore’s own sonic luminaries The Observatory, Vandetta and Gema in the line-up last year. The upcoming one looks to expand the format with the announced inclusion of local electronica duo .gif, folk project Hanging Up The Moon and two of Malaysia’s best synth-rock bands Pastel Lite and Enterprise.

Unfortunately, some favourites from Laneway Festival’s Australia lineup won’t be gracing our shores this time round — many here were looking forward to catching instrumental hip-hop legend Flying Lotus and electronic duo Flight Facilities. Nevertheless, the lineup here still looks pretty lively and should satiate even the most fervent of scenesters.

Tickets are on sale online from $137 onwards — stay updated on the official website and the Facebook page.
