French electronica icons M83 to make their long-anticipated return this May

After arguably delivering the best concluding performance in the history of Laneway Festival Singapore, synthpop icons M83 will be making their long-anticipated return this May at The Coliseum.

Thanks to Laneway Festival Singapore, they’re bringing back Anthony Gonzalez and his backing troupe of sonic maestros. Flying under the spotlight for their first five albums, it was in 2011 that M83 went on a meteoric rise to prominence with Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming — Gonzalez’s magnum opus that garnered a Grammy nod and a spot in Pitchfork’s top 100 best albums of the decade.

Having put up an amazing, life-affirming ender to the last Laneway Festival Singapore held at Fort Canning Park, folks are hungry for more of M83’s ethereal, sparkling electronic tunes. With the band’s first ever solo show in Singapore coming on May 19, fans will be treated to old classics and most probably new ones from his upcoming album — M83’s first studio album in five years. And we’ll be among the first in the world to hear new M83 material live, so that’s neat.

Tickets are out right now for M83 Fan Club members, while everyone else can prep for early bird tickets from tomorrow onwards through Sistic. Stay updated on the official Facebook event page.
