Returning for its second edition, the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival, which is also known as Singapore’s largest of its kind, will take over 23,000 sqm at Bayfront Event Space from Dec 22 this year. With 50 rides and games from across the globe — up from 40 last year — the family-friendly shindig will also get dressed up in ‘Crazy’, ‘Loving’, and ‘Epic’ themes over the months.

From opening day till Jan 25, the first dress code theme is ‘Future-Forward’ — so if your threads impress, you can bypass the lines and get the opportunity to win bonus credits.

Entry is free as usual, while the organizers have claimed to make the prices for rides and games “more accessible” for visitors, with rides priced from $6-$14 and games from $5-$8. But if you’re feeling generous, you can opt for the $30 fast track passes to skip the queues (because you know there will be long lines, especially on weekends).

Also look out for four new rides this year, including the Wave Swinger from Italy, a contraption with seats suspended from a rotating roof, that’s coming to Southeast Asia for the first time. Making it more Insta-worthy, the ride will feature murals of local landmarks like Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay as well.

However, even though we’ve got more rides to choose from, this year’s carnival is smaller than last year’s 25,000 sqm, as it won’t be taking over the space at The Promontory like before.
