Statement looks are cool and all, but who really wants to be photographed in the same attention-grabbing outfit twice? (Especially if you’re a crazy rich Asian person. Or a social media influencer, we guess.)

Enter Rentadella, a fashion rental platform that allows you to borrow all kinds of designer dresses — from cool casual wear to glamorous evening gowns — for a fraction of the cost. It’s the brainchild of Singapore-based singer-songwriter Ming Bridges, a 25-year-old fashionista who’s been open about her struggle with eating disorders in the past and now conducts TED talks across Asia on body confidence.

To appeal to the every woman, she brings in an “effortlessly classic” range that runs from fun and colorful to sleek and chic, working with brands that aren’t usually found in Singapore.

Alternating between high fashion brands and indie cult labels, Rentadella stocks an ever-expanding list that includes the likes of Alice + Olivia, Badgley Mischka, By Nicola, Diane Von Furstenberg, Finders Keepers, For Love & Lemons, Herve Leger, Keepsake The Label, Lipsy, Louis Vuitton, Privacy Please, Ralph Lauren, Reformation, The Jetset Diaries, and We Are Kindred.

For an idea of the discounted rates you’re paying to rent the dresses instead of buying them, you can get a black lace gown by Elle Zeitoune for $109 (retail price: $400), a strapless satin gown by Alex Perry for $299 (retail price $1,915), a red gown by Jill Jill Stuart for $119 (retail price $545), or a floral lace-up dress by Zimmermann for $99 (retail price $605).

The site has been active since November 2017, but last month marked its official launch, with more styles and sizes added to the line-up. Its current selection features 275 designs in sizes from Australian 4 to 16, but you can expect more looks to arrive each month.

There’s no forking out monthly subscription fees here, either. Using a pay-per-use model, the service allows customers to book items for a specific date and length of time, and rentals typically last from four to eight days. You can schedule a package up to four months in advance, or place your order before 4pm and thank the heavens for last minute deliveries when you receive your dress within four hours of booking.

Alternatively, if you’re not much of an online shopper, Rentadella’s headquarters at Cuscaden Road are available for you to slot yourself into a 45-minute personal styling session. Here, you can try on whatever’s caught your eye and bring home your favorites after the appointment.

Oh, and if you’d like to stay on top of your fashion game while on vacation, the site also offers a Holiday Package for users to rent three dresses for eight days at $290 or five dresses for 15 days at $450.
