These design trails around Singapore will take you to heritage sites, creative spaces, and an urban farm

With a new year comes the return of Shophouse & Co’s design trails for those who want a different view of the Singapore you’re used to. But switching things up a little, the rebranded The City Ramble Design Trails will feature three tours, with a total of six stops, including ones outside of the city center for the first time.

The City Ramble Stories will highlight Singapore’s emerging young urban creatives under 35 in an urban guide, with designers’ neighborhood recommendations and perspectives on creativity in our city. Those who purchase the booklet ($12) can explore the pitstops at your own pace to check out scenes that have inspired designers in their work.

As for The City Ramble Heritage, the ticketed tour led by design professionals and heritage experts will take you to architectural sites rich in history and culture. Expect to stop by Goh Loo Club, The Quadrant At Cecil, and The Warehouse Hotel on the $70 trail — these may be places familiar to you, but you’ll get an inside look on the stories behind the buildings during the walk.

Finally, The City Ramble Process takes you to the creative spaces of designers to watch their behind-the-scenes processes. Sites on the tour include urban farm The Citizen Farm, industrial building The Mill, and the Funan Showsuite, where activities like workshops, demonstrations and more will be held.
