Concert organisers Secret Sounds Asia are already gearing up for a very woeful evening this week when Bon Iver comes to town, but they’re hosting yet another indie music sadman come June.
Beloved Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice will be bringing his impassioned folk sensibilities once again to our shores. Previously enchanting thousands in Neon Lights Festival last November at Fort Canning, Rice will be returning on June 4, this time for an intimate solo concert at The Star Theatre.

Renowned for his instant classics ‘The Blower’s Daughter’, ‘Cannonball’, ‘Volcano’ and more, the multi-instrumentalist has making it on his own since 2001, releasing three acclaimed tear-jerking albums along the way. Though he doesn’t seem to have anything new lined up in the horizon, fans will definitely appreciate Rice belting out old favourites again, this time in the cosy, reverb-y comforts of a concert hall instead of an open air festival.
Tickets to launch on sale from $68 to $148 through Sistic this Friday; more details on the official Facebook page.
