This cool new reading room and tea salon can be your go-to weekday hangout spot

If you’re not quite sure what The Lo & Behold Group is, all you need to know is they’re the people behind restaurants and bars like The White Rabbit, Loof, Tanjong Beach Club, The Black Swan, Odette and the soon-to-be-opened Warehouse Hotel. With a portfolio like that, it’s a no-brainer that the hospitality and F&B group has a magic touch when it comes to cool stuff.

Enter Looksee Looksee: A new reading room by The Lo & Behold Group plus tea salon by A.muse Projects. Located on the ground floor of the company’s new headquarters — which takes up three 1820s shop houses along Beach Road — the pretty pastel-washed space sits next to homegrown brands like Scene Shang and Super Mama, giving you more reason to check out the stretch.

Looksee Looksee main area

It’s open for free public use, and in it you’ll find a curation of art, design and F&B books selected by noteworthy contributors such Kenny Leck from BooksActually, Leon Foo from Papa Palheta and Bjorn Shen of Artichoke and Bird Bird. Local specialty tea company A.muse Projects will serve up hot and cold brews in ceramic cups, and visitors can offer tips or purchase take home merch in exchange for the beverages.

Looksee Looksee seating

Sure sounds like a neat place to chill out. But don’t try and drop by during the weekend, ’cause the cosy 25-seater is only open during weekday working hours (it is part of an office, after all).

Looksee Looksee is at 267 Beach Rd, 6338-8035. Mon-Fri 9.30am-6pm.
