These Brittle Bones has a new EP coming out — his first since last year’s two-part album, Hiraeth. TItled Effects, it showcases his experimentation with a more mature sound, while retaining his signature haunting melodic sentiments.
Born Chris Jones, the 16-year-old singer-songwriter moved to Singapore from Wales about 7 years ago, and the effects of this cross-cultural change has no doubt seeped into his music. Interwoven with the highs and lows of growing up, his life experiences have provided plenty of material for his craft.
Have a listen to ‘Instinct’, the EP’s first single, just freshly debuted yesterday. Of the track, he says, “The song is about the fear or acceptance of being independent, and the innate quality I have of being too reliant on other people; an instinctual feeling of not wanting to let other people down.”
