Can’t remember Marina Bay before Marina Bay Sands? This photographer captured it all through the years

Ever looked at Marina Bay Sands and wondered how it was before those three now-iconic towers appeared? Well if you can’t, for the life of you, remember what Marina Bay looked like before the casino, hotel and shops opened in 2010, here’s a collection of photos to jog your memory.

Taken by local photographer Darren Soh — the man who also gave us a super cool pic of a lightning storm in Singapore and awesome aerial shots of Bukit Panjang — the series of 100 photos covers the Marina Bay Sands site from concept to reality, dating from 1990 to 2016. It’s basically like seeing familiar landmarks such as The Shoppes, the hotel’s skypark, the ArtScience Museum and Gardens by the Bay slowly come to life through the images.
