Bid farewell to the Red Dot Design Museum with these final markets and exhibitions

Have you heard the news about Red Dot Design Museum moving out of the conserved heritage Red Dot Traffic Building to make space for Maxwell Chambers? April 30 is the deadline for the museum — which has been a tourist attraction since its opening in 2005 — to leave, but if you’re feeling nostalgic already, fret not. It’s still in talks to confirm a new location.

In the meantime, pop by Red Dot to bid farewell to the museum at these markets and exhibitions over the next few months.

Art of Persuasion

Stroll through this exhibition displaying works by winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design and discover the design of persuasion by messages from top designers and design agencies in the form of TV commercials, posters and websites.

Designing Our Future

Feast your eyes on more than 300 futuristic creations from designers and innovative companies at this curation of the best ideas from the Red Dot Award: Design Concept. Who knows, you might be inspired to craft out your own perception of the future.

Good Design Today

If you’re the type that friends avoid bringing to galleries for fear of your inability to resist touching the artworks, well then, this showcase is for you. Feel free to reach out and engage with the winning items of the Red Dot Award: Product Design — these fascinating creations will make you think about how design can make a difference in daily life.

MAAD Pyjamas

This monthly flea is the one we’ll probably miss most, given its eclectic collection of homegrown labels and quirky designers. No matter if we’re hunting for unique birthday gifts or cool accessories, the market has never let us down. Say goodbye to MAAD at Red Dot and get your portrait done one last time by the Organisation of Illustrators Council for memories’ sake.

The next one is on Jan 13, 5pm-midnight.
