Surprise, surprise: Arcades are still around, guys. Apparently, our favorite secondary school hangout spot (ahem, Timezone), remains very much alive and kicking in Singapore, with nine locations scattered all over the island and one more to come.
Its latest store — and a flagship one at that — sits in VivoCity across a sprawling 12,000 sq ft of space. But it’s not just another arcade, like the ones you recall with nostalgia.
Ohhh, no. In a bid to attract crowds and return Timezone back to its former glory, this outlet is all shiny and bright and new, with loads of neon-lit games calling out for your attention and a prize shop with fully stocked shelves that’ll motivate any competitive player to go the extra mile (and fork out extra cash) just to be crowned champion and have the honor of bringing home something legit.
But enter at your own risk, ’cause you could probably (unintentionally) spend an entire day here fulfilling the desires of your inner child — even when you’re done with all the games, there’s still the mini bowling alley or the bumper cars attraction to entice you to part with a couple more dollars.
