Dîner en Blanc is back in Singapore for the third year running.
Happening on July 5 in a — you know it — secret location, this edition of the French-born mass picnic is going all out with the romantic gestures.
Each pair of diners will be invited to write their “hopes and dreams” on a card, which will be slipped into a champagne bottle and placed in the water. Organisers will then collect the bottles and display the messages on Facebook — the most romantic submission wins a prize from Perrier-Jouët.
Sounds like it might be a poolside venue — the Marina Bay Sands Skypark, perhaps? But wait — they’re planning to accommodate 3,210 guests this year so that’s out. (Feel free to discuss the possibilities in the comments.)
Anyway, if you’re planning to come with a BFF, don’t. Unless you enjoy feeling awkward or have a romantic poem about friendship in mind.
This year, diners will also have the option of pre-purchasing a three-course meal served in a traditional tiffin, which you can keep. If you need a visual, here’s a very hypnotising food preparation video:
If you attended last year’s Dîner en Blanc, you can now register and sponsor an additional table of friends if you want.
Phase 3 registrations for new participants open June 3.
Tickets are $40 per person excluding a $6.40 membership fee.
