Singapore’s vibrant bar scene just got a whole lot more exciting with the grand unveiling of White Shades, a revolutionary cocktail destination that promises to redefine the art of mixology and elevate the sensory experience of imbibing.
Created under the founders of Stay Gold Flamingo – ranked #32 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars – White Shades is nestled along Boon Tat Street in a four-story shophouse where the vision was to curate a space where cocktails aren’t just drinks; they’re experiences.
Guests are greeted with Dessert on the first floor, which offers an ice cream parlor experience featuring 12 flavors, including four alcoholic concoctions, two sorbets, and experimental seasonal delights.
Housemade juniper-flavored cones complement the ice cream, while low-ABV tea cocktails and cold-brewed tea and coffee offer a lighter introduction to the unique cocktail offerings.
The second floor is Cocktail, a sophisticated bar where the space is enveloped with soulful R&B tunes with outdoor tables for al-fresco fans. The bespoke cocktail menu, named ‘unRAW’, showcases boundary-pushing cocktails like Savi Galloping, made with Codigo Blanco tequila, paprika, lime, fire water and smoked chips and inspired by Hermès scarves and horse gallops; and the Bomber J, which features Suntory World Whisky AO, toasted rice syrup and Hinkoi bitters. It pays tribute to the team’s bomber jacket uniforms.
As for food, Chef Hosni, previously with Employees Only, presents a menu of bold, contemporary fusion dishes like the Beef Tartare with runny quail yolk and fiery sambal matah and the indulgent Beef Cheek Rendang Grilled Cheese with brie and red cheddar are masterfully crafted to complement the cocktails.
But the journey through White Shades doesn’t end there. Take the lift to the Event universe and you’ll see a customizable space dedicated to creatives for gatherings and events, accommodating up to 35 guests.
Lastly, ascend to the rooftop for a laid-back cocktail experience that has soulful acoustic covers, live music, and an area filled with games, all against the stunning backdrop of Singapore’s skyline.
“At White Shades, creativity is not just a buzzword; it’s ingrained in every fibre of the space. From the moment guests step through the doors, they will be transported into a vibrant world where each floor boasts a distinct identity, colour tone, and music genre, resulting in four mesmerizingly different experiences,” co-founder JiaWei Bai said in a news release.
